Braille Displays

Braille Displays are hardware devices that display the output from a screen reader in braille in real time through the use of tiny pins in the device which are raised and lowered to create the appropriate braille dots. Braille displays can contain anywhere from 14 to 80 braille cells, and though features vary, most contain buttons for navigating the text on the screen and many contain keys that allow for inputting commands to the computer or PDA directly from the display. Braille displays may connect to computers or portable devices either through USB, Bluetooth, or both.
